# Israel and Lebanon War Map: Gaza and Lebanon Live Events

Updated 10:28 UTC, 29 Oct 2026. Canonical: https://monitorworld.app/live/israel-lebanon-war-map

UCDP recorded **113 armed-conflict events in Israel, the Palestinian territories and Lebanon** (30 Aug 2026 to 30 Sep 2026), with 171 deaths reported by UCDP. Our risk score for Israel is 50/100. As of October 2026 both ceasefires are fragile: in Gaza (since 10 October 2025) Israeli strikes continue almost daily, and in Lebanon a temporary ceasefire has applied since 16 April 2026, after Hezbollah joined the 2026 Iran war, but Israeli strikes continue and Israeli troops hold parts of the south. The map shows recorded events and the list shows today's reports; we never show live strike or interception locations here.

### The conflict in short

On 7 October 2023 Hamas-led fighters attacked southern Israel, killing about 1,200 people and taking some 250 hostages. Israel's military campaign in Gaza followed, with very high Palestinian casualties and destruction reported by the UN and the Gaza health authorities. Ceasefires and hostage-prisoner exchanges followed in rounds. The current Gaza ceasefire took effect on 10 October 2025, and the last 20 living hostages were freed on 13 October 2025 (reported by [NPR / Michigan Public](https://www.michiganpublic.org/2025-10-13/in-a-major-milestone-hamas-releases-final-group-of-living-israeli-hostages)). In November 2025 UN Security Council resolution 2803 endorsed a Board of Peace and an International Stabilization Force ([UN News](https://news.un.org/en/story/2025/11/1166391)).

As of October 2026 the Gaza ceasefire holds on paper only: Al Jazeera reports almost daily Israeli strikes and more than 1,400 Palestinians killed since 10 October 2025, Israel holds about 60% of the Strip behind the so-called Yellow Line, no stabilisation force has deployed, and the second phase of the plan has not started because Israel and Hamas disagree on disarmament ([Al Jazeera](https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/10/10/what-has-trumps-board-of-peace-achieved-in-a-year-since-gaza), 10 October 2026). Israel held a general election on 27 October 2026; preliminary results gave no bloc a majority ([Al Jazeera](https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/10/28/five-key-takeaways-from-israels-parliamentary-elections), 28 October 2026).

Hezbollah in Lebanon began firing at northern Israel in October 2023. Israel escalated in September 2024 with strikes and a ground operation in southern Lebanon, and a ceasefire took effect on 27 November 2024. That ceasefire broke down in 2026: on 2 March 2026 Hezbollah fired at Israel after the US and Israel attacked Iran, and Israel answered with heavy strikes and, from mid-March, a ground operation in the south (see the [House of Commons Library briefing](https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-10887/)).

A US-brokered temporary ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon has applied since 16 April 2026 (reported by [Semafor](https://www.semafor.com/article/04/16/2026/trump-says-israel-lebanon-agree-to-10-day-ceasefire)), and on 26 June 2026 Israel and Lebanon signed a US-backed framework agreement in Washington, which Hezbollah rejected (reported by [AP via Local 10](https://www.local10.com/news/2026/06/26/israel-and-lebanon-sign-framework-agreement-with-us-in-first-step-toward-peace-rubio-says/)). As of October 2026 Israeli troops still hold a security zone in parts of the south, Israeli strikes continue, and talks under the framework go on. Check the dated reports on this page for the current situation.

### Gaza map: the Gaza Strip at a glance

The Gaza Strip is a narrow Palestinian territory on the Mediterranean coast, about 41 km long and 6 to 12 km wide, with an area of about 365 km². It borders Israel to the north and east and Egypt to the south. It is divided into five governorates, from north to south: North Gaza, Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, Khan Younis and Rafah. About 2.1 million people lived there before the war, according to the UN, most of them refugees or their descendants.

Goods and people enter through a few crossings: Rafah to Egypt, and Kerem Shalom (Karem Abu Salem), Erez (Beit Hanoun) and Zikim from Israel. Which crossings are open changes often; the UN publishes the current status. Our map shows UCDP events only; we do not draw military positions or withdrawal lines inside Gaza.

### How we handle sensitive data here

Casualty figures are always given as "reported by <source>, <date>"; UCDP figures appear with their best, low and high estimates, and we never mix sources. We do not show live rocket alerts, interception sites or military positions; Israel's military censor bans publishing them in real time, and they can endanger people. For official alerts in Israel, use the Home Front Command app.

## FAQ

### What is happening in Israel and Lebanon now?

The latest report on this page (09:45 UTC, The Hindu) is: "Watch: What has driven the high Arab turnout in Israel’s elections? | The Hindu explains". UCDP recorded 113 events in its latest window (30 Aug 2026 to 30 Sep 2026).

### Where is Gaza on the map?

The Gaza Strip lies on the eastern Mediterranean coast, between Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula. It is about 41 km long and up to 12 km wide, and together with the West Bank and East Jerusalem it forms the Palestinian territories. UN OCHA publishes detailed humanitarian maps of Gaza.

### Is there a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon?

Yes on paper, but neither is quiet. In Gaza a ceasefire has applied since 10 October 2025, but as of October 2026 Israeli strikes happen almost daily and Israel holds about 60% of the Strip (reported by Al Jazeera, 10 October 2026). In Lebanon the November 2024 ceasefire broke down when Hezbollah joined the 2026 Iran war on 2 March 2026; a temporary ceasefire has applied since 16 April 2026, and a US-backed framework followed in June, but as of October 2026 Israeli strikes continue and Israeli troops hold parts of the south. The dated reports at the top of this page show the latest.

### Why are Israel and Hezbollah fighting?

Hezbollah, a Lebanese armed group and political party backed by Iran, has fought Israel since the 1980s. It started firing at Israel in October 2023 in support of Hamas, and again on 2 March 2026 after the US and Israel attacked Iran. Israel says it must push Hezbollah away from its northern border and wants it disarmed; Hezbollah rejects disarmament.

### Where can I see live rocket alerts (Tzeva Adom)?

We do not publish live alerts or impact sites. In Israel, use the official Home Front Command app for alerts.
